Factors Responsible For Hair-loss

Hair loss is a common element in modern-day living because of pollution, food, stress, etc. Your hair is a bit of your pride and your natural appearance. Hair loss can sometimes be a difficult problem to solve because there are so many different causes. Sometimes it takes a while to find out what exactly is going on. Fortunately, there are effective natural solutions for many forms of hair loss.

Here are some of the common causes of mild, scattered hair loss. This is the type of hair loss you notice coming out in a shower, bath, lying on your pillow, or sitting in your hairbrush.

How does your hair growth work?

The life cycle of a head hair has three phases: the growth phase, the transition phase, and the resting phase. The hair grows during the growth phase. The growth phase of hair takes about three years on average. In women, the growth phase usually lasts a little longer than in men. After the growth phase, the hair enters the transitional phase. The hair no longer grows and is looser in the hair follicle. When the hair falls out, the hair follicle is then in the resting phase.

After a few months, new hair is formed in the hair follicle and the next growth phase is created. And so on. Fortunately, all the hairs on your head are in different phases, so you always have a bunch of hair! In the course of your life, the number of hair follicles decreases on your head, and thus also the thickness of your hair. This process is mainly under the influence of hormones.

Hair loss due to a stressful event

Very stressful events, such as pregnancy and childbirth, heavy emotional stress, going through an accident or a disease with high fever, can cause a very large part of your hair to end up in the same growth phase. As a result, many more hairs come into the resting phase at the same time than normal. That is very annoying, what means that all that hair falls out at the same time. You often see this synchronization of the hair growth phases approximately 2 to 4 months after a stressful event.

This explains why many women experience considerable hair loss during the first half of their pregnancy. Your hair is scattered all over your head, and your hair bunch becomes thinner. Usually, hair growth recovers automatically within a year.

Hair loss in men

Hair loss is a normal process for men. In men, the hairline at the temples gradually withdraws and usually, a bald spot is created on top of the head. The main culprit is the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT occurs in both men and women and is formed from the male hormone testosterone.

Male pattern baldness occurs mainly in men who have a genetic predisposition to it, in combination with increased levels of male hormones.

In most men who have inherited heredity and increased hormone levels, hair loss occurs gradually from the end of puberty. So this is a natural process and not a sign of illness or disruption!

Hormonal hair loss in women

During the menopause, the female hormone levels decrease, and the androgenic (= male) hormone levels are relatively higher. As a result, the hair bunch can become less full of women from the menopause.

Healthy eating, supplementing the necessary building materials and supporting female hormone levels can alleviate this process and provide a solution for hormonal hair loss.
